This large textured canvas is abstract and vibrant- the viewer may imagine carps through the waters of a pond.
I discovered several ponds in a fabulous garden in Okayama: the colour of the water, moss and aquatic plants was completed by the orange-red splashes of the carps. These fishes are associated with strength and perseverance, I found them so decorative. The combination of the turquoise and orange colour became, early on, my signature colours for my art practice.
