The moon light plays reflection on the river- multi layered paint, acrylic and chalk give a feeling of tranquility to this contemplative painting. This was created slowly as an exercise in mindfulness on my return form Japan.
I briefly walked on the Nakasendo, literally the central mountain route which once connected Edo (present-day Tokyo) with Kyoto during the Edo period. I felt I had stepped back in time to the age of the samurai. The historic section in Kiso is known for its lush green forests and crystal clear streams.
